Blast from the Past

Featured on the cover of the February 1959 edition of Power and Pedal are a number of London clubs (Kensington LC (Pegasus) and Mitcham LC (The Goons) amongst them). At the front is Derek Guy from the British Labretta Owners Association togged out in one of the (then) new BLOA anoraks.

The assembled scooters include a large percentage of LD models, some of the (then) newly launched Series 1 Li models and if you look closely enough a couple of Series 1 TV 175s.

The photograph was taken in front of the Wimbledon greyhound stadium. At the time of this picture the Kensington Lambretta Club had enroled their 100th member.

The reason for the photo isn't clear but it's a great snap shot of late 50's Lambretta life in Britain.
