Editorial - Winter/Spring 2010
Well, here we are in January 2010 - another year of scooter rallies, custom shows, visits to dealers and the odd jaunt or three on the Lambrettas to show our faces around the UK.
One of our old friends Mark Lloyd now lives on the Isle of Wight and has started up his own scooter business Spark Kustom Scooters. He's based in Ryde and can not only service your scooter for you he can also restore and customise your steed. So, if you want some honest, friendly, reliable service then contact Mark - his site can be found at: http://sites.google.com/site/sparkkustomskooters/
We have turned our thoughts to producing another Lambretta based book and at this moment in time we're seeing if there is a market for it - so watch this space.
The picture above shows the latest Lambretta to be completed by Pete Merchant and the crew at Rochdale based Solely Scooters - it's a replica of Jimmy's scooter from Quadrophenia. Pete has updated the scooter and I must admit, it's a stunning piece of work. Anyone interested in buying it should contact Solely Scooters: info@solelyscooters.co.uk or 01706 355339
Please note: Applications to retain original registration numbers cannot be handled by the BLA. Only the Lambretta Club of GB are authorised to complete these applications. We had been informed that the DVLA would accept BLA letters under the V765 scheme - however, this would now not appear to be the case. We have handled no more than a handful of V765 applications and we will no longer handle any.
That's all for now, hopefully we'll see some of you out and this season. Keep on keepin' on!
